The peacocks fly to the southeast is a famous scene from the opera "The Peony Pavilion".

It depicts a beautiful woman named Liang Shanbo who falls in love with a scholar named Zhu Yingtai.

They meet at a temple where Zhu Yingtai is performing a ritual to summon the spirits of his ancestors.

As they are leaving the temple, a group of peacocks appears and follow them to the southeast.

This scene symbolizes the power and beauty of nature, as well as the romantic and magical atmosphere of the opera.
